School Districts In The City Of Chandler
The Chandler Unified School District serves approximately 38,000 students in grades K-12 within the Southeastern portion of the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Chandler School District encompasses 80 square miles, including most of the City of Chandler. The City of Chandler has had a population explosion that has allowed the Chandler School District to become one of the fastest growing school districts in the state of Arizona. The Chandler School District currently consists of 29 elementary schools, seven junior high schools, four high schools, and two alternative schools. The four public high schools in the Chandler School District that serve the City of Chandler residents are Basha, Chandler, Hamilton, and Perry.
The Arizona Department of Education has given the Chandler School District an "A" grade. Chandler Unified is one of only 23 districts to earn the top grade, and one of only 11 districts to earn the grade in both years of the state’s Arizona Learns letter grade accountability program. The Chandler School District consistently records test scores above the state and national averages, as well as scoring among the top in Arizona on college entrance exams. Almost all of the Chandler School District schools have been recognized for their academic excellence by outside organizations, such as the Arizona Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Education.

The Kyrene Elementary School District serves approximately 18,000 students in K-8 and over 400 preschool children, encompassing all of Ahwatukee, parts of Chandler, Guadalupe, Tempe, and the Gila River Indian Reservation. They have consistently been one of the top performing school districts in the state of Arizona, with over 125 years of excellence in education. The Kyrene School District is comprised of 19 elementary and six middle schools.
The Kyrene School District is an "A" rated district based on the state's accountability system, Arizona Learns. The Kyrene School District curriculum is aligned to Arizona state standards, and consistently receiving AIMS Scores that exceed the State average in reading, science, and math. The Tempe Union High School District (TUHSD) serves approximately 14,000 students in grades 9-12. The District encompasses 162 square miles within the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area, serving the City of Tempe, Town of Guadalupe, the Gila River Indian community, the Ahwatukee Foothills in Phoenix, and parts of the City of Chandler. Six high schools, one non-traditional high school, and one academy for gifted students make up the Tempe High School District schools. Corona del Sol, Desert Vista, and Mountain Pointe are the three conventional high schools serving those families that reside within the City of Chandler. Tempe High School District has received an "A" label for achievement, and Mountain Pointe was recognized as an "A+ School of Excellence" in 2010, followed by Desert Vista in 2011.
Students in the Tempe High School District score well above the state and national averages on standardized tests and college entrance exams. The district is home to 49 National Merit finalists, and the most recent Class of 2013 included five of Arizona's 20 Flinn Scholars, receiving scholarships exceeding $73 million. More than 61% of the teachers in the Tempe High School District have master's degrees or higher, with 53% have 10 or more years of teaching experience. All teachers are certified by the Arizona State Department of Education. Tempe Union High School District employees have been recognized both locally and nationally for their expertise and experience.
