Chandler Schools and the Chandler School District
The Chandler Unified School District serves approximately 38,000 students in grades K-12 within the Southeastern portion of the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Chandler School District encompasses 80 square miles, including most of the City of Chandler. The City of Chandler has had a population explosion that has allowed the Chandler School District to become one of the fastest growing school districts in the state of Arizona.
The Chandler School District currently consists of 29 elementary schools, seven junior high schools, four high schools, and two alternative schools. The four public high schools in the Chandler School District that serve the City of Chandler residents are Basha, Chandler, Hamilton, and Perry. The Arizona Department of Education has given the Chandler School District an "A" grade. Chandler Unified is one of only 23 districts to earn the top grade, and one of only 11 districts to earn the grade in both years of the state’s Arizona Learns letter grade accountability program. |
The Chandler School District consistently records test scores above the state and national averages, as well as scoring among the top in Arizona on college entrance exams. Almost all of the Chandler School District schools have been recognized for their academic excellence by outside organizations, such as the Arizona Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Education.
